Topic: Bug report: Impossible transfer Locations between Entities.

Hello to all,

   My GLPI v0.80 test environment is as following:

      .- The server
         .- Ubuntu Server 10.04.3 LTS (Lucid Lynx) - Architecture AMD64
         .- OCS Inventory NG Management Server v2.0
         .- GLPI v0.80.4
            .- GLPI v0.80.4 Agents
               .- FusionInventory for GLPI v2.4.0
                  .- FusionInventory v2.4.0
                  .- FusionInventory INVENTORY v2.4.0
                  .- FusionInventory SNMP v2.4.0
               .- Shell Commands v1.4.0
               .- Bays Management v1.2.0

      .- The agents
         .- FusionInventory-Agent v2.1.11-1 (for Windows)
         .- FusionInventory-Agent v2.1.10-1 (for Windows)
         .- FusionInventory-Agent v2.1.9-3 (for Windows)
         .- FusionInventory-Agent v2.1.10-1 (for GNU/Linux)
         .- FusionInventory-Agent v2.1.9-3 (for GNU/Linux)


   Description:

      In Home> Setup> Dropdowns> Location I select a location and, in the drop-down operation list, I select "Transfer - Merge" but it's impossible select the new target entity for the location.  To the right of the drop-down operation list appears only entity in which I am.

If you want to change the entity of your location, use Move instill of Tranfer-Merge

Prod : RHEL 4.6/5.4 - php 5.1.6/5.2.13 + APC + memcached - MySQL 5.0.45 - OCS 1.01 - GLPI 0.83.8 svn  (>130 000 PMF - 334 entités)
Dev : Fedora 14 - PHP 5.4.12 - .GLPI 0.84 SVN - GLPI 0.85 SVN

Hello Yllen,

   Thanks for your help but you information is valid for move a location as child or father of other location but not to move or transfer a location to another entity.

   With Move you can move a location in the hierarchy of locations but no in the hierarchy of entities.

   There is a bug, not a operational problem.

You are right. You can't transfer a location to another entity.
But, if you transfer a material with location A from entity 1 to entity 2, if the location A doesn't exist is entity 2, it will be created.

Hello Yllen,

   It will be usefull if I wanted to do is this. I have created four entities for now and more than a thousand of locations. Some times, when I was creating locations, I was in a incorrect entity and so many times I had to redo the job.

   It's possible to add a new issue in GLPI Forge for to fix this problem or for to add a new funcionality?

Hello to all again,

Perhaps exists other way to communicate a new bug or to ask a new feature. Perhaps exists but, I don't know what it is.

This is the reason why I write again to ask any manager (jmd, moyo) or developer (remi, touraine, tsmr, walid, yllen) this than follows:

   Is it possible to add a new issue in GLPI Forge for to fix this problem or for to add a new feature in the new GLPI 0.80.6 version or any other future version.?

Please, if it is not possible, let me know.
